United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is a United Nations office that was established in 1997 as the Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention.

The office aims long-term to better equip governments to handle drug-, crime-, terrorism-, and corruption-related issues, to maximise knowledge on these issues among governmental institutions and agencies, and also to maximise awareness of said matters in public opinion, globally, nationally and at community level.

2." To adresss the issue of money laundering and trafficking of persons with emphasis on the Middle East and to strengthen existing mechanisms for the same."

"Dhaval Mehta, is a 4th year law student from NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, he has a keen interest in politics and believes that discourse in any form is the first step towards addressing the issue. As a MUNer, he is an extremely thorough researcher and will research anything and everything related or not related to the country or the agenda. With a special affinity towards committees with a legal question/background, Dhaval does not shy away from any committee, and has got a taste of most of them. He is an extremely dedicated moderator, and will do everything in his power to make sure that the experience of every delegate in the committee is an enriching one and is worth remembering"

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Mumbai University, Digvijay Ghotane is currently studying in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College. Over the years, from participating in debates at school to Model United Nation conferences at college, it gave him a skill to not only infulge in logical argumentation but also an insight into international relations and politics. Having participated in over 40 MUNs, he has been a part of almost all aspects that a MUN has to offer, that is, by being a Delegate, an Executive Board member and an Organising Committee member. His favourite committee is the Security Council. Outside of committee, Digvijay can be seen reciting poetry, petting cats, browsing Reddit and listening to rock music.
